I cut apart the Jedi/Utapau pattern last night so I could get a better feel for it....my opinions:
The robe is very generously sized ....this will be a robe with some good "volume"...the sleeves are really nice and big (check the length before you cut though)...but...as always...the hood is woefully inadequate! You will definitely have to make it much larger.
The tunic....well for once...it also has a lot of volume to the sleeve (also...check sleeve length before you cut fabric) -rather angular at the front...not sure how that will come out looking...also...for women you will need some darts/princess seams to take the "poof" out of the tunic at the waist.
The tabards: too wide at the shoulder-unless you have uber shoulders....I would make them narrower at the shoulder....and I would not interface them...too stiff!
It has a cheater undertunic dickey that is similar to the pattern I currently use....a nice touch and the dickie undertunic is a nice way to get the detail at the neck without the bulk and heat of an undertunic in the REALLY hot weather...I love mine...and have used it on more than one occasion...this pattern is a little more generous than the one I currently use...which is a good thing...and lose the tie thingy...I just use a safety pin...
I have some fabric (a tan crinkle gauze with a texture very much like Obi-Wan in Episode One) that I may try this pattern out on....but this gauze will have to be lined...too thin....

Nice to hear that. I'm going to attempt making a cooler Jedi costume. Should the waist be narrower for the outer tunic? I was able to get osanberg & raw silk noir so I'm going to have a few alternates, especially for the heat.

I tried to slow watch AOTC & tried to watch the Jedi costumes a little closer. On the utility belt where exactly are the food capsules supposed to go? On the narrow belt or the big part of the belt or it doesn't matter?
From what I noticed with Obi-Wan it seems that the outer tunic has more material in the back for ease of movement? Are his sleeves lined in the outer tunic?
I'm working at making 4 tunics (1 at a time of course) I'm using the 4450 from simplicity for the outter tunics & tabbord, sash & robe 1 outter tunic out of osanberg &1 raw silk noir natural color. The tabbords, sash
I'm using the 5440 for the inner tunics with modifications: I figure the longer sleeves will help if its cool but not too hot: & they're washable 1 inner tunic out of osanberg & 1 out of dark brown raw silk noir.
Eventually I'm going to attempt doing a robe.

Thanks to Primrodo for the Picture.

Whats sad is that the majority of people put them on the accent belt due to one VD image...when I've never seen them that way in the films.

Thanks. I'll just have to move them a little. Well something new to learn because I'm only now paying attention to details & still learning.

I put mine on my accent belt, because the leather on my belt is to thick to put them there, if I do that, the clips are off in minutes, because the accent belt is almost as thick, both are 1/4 inch cowhide, and the accent belt pushes the clips right out of them. I like them there so, no matter, I'm thinking they wear them where they fit on their personal belts, and then there are some that don't seem to wear them at all.

I'd have loved to use Simplicity 4450 but we don't get that here (NZ) until Feb next year. How stink is that. Mum and I used Simplicity 5763 which is the pattern for a men's or teen's robe. I think that my tunic, tabards and obi could be improved but Mum isn't that keen on me redoing them.

I used the 4450 and its not all that great. Its good, but overrated, and the tabards/obi are way off. The instructions didn't make much sense to me, so I did it my way as usual. I had minor problems with the way the underarms fall, and had to alter the tucks. Most of the time, when you're just done (and while doing it), you're always thinking it isn't all that good, or even very bad... wait a little while (a week?) and put it on, have pictures taken and see it from another perspective.... you might like it better. Hey... I was ready to burn my new tunic. Really. I didn't like it at all. See, its not all that bad afterall: (same day, two poses. Tabbards and obi NOT from pattern. hope it helps people make an opinion on the pattern.)

agreed.....you have to alter just about every pattern that I have ever found anyway....and....as noted...taking your time....looking at it several ways...and stepping back if you get frustrated is the way to go...
that and making a mock up of cheap muslin first....
and....I do clip my food capsules to the larger belt...and am always amazed that I haven't lost any ..... mine are pretty badly battered...I have been on a lot of missions with them....I need to repaint several of them...
