This is what I want my Jedi Costume to look like when it's finished... However, I have a feeling that to be approved, it's going to have to look more like this...

Hmmm...The first one seems to be an AOTC Anakin replica; he didn't have black tabards or black cloak in that...just dark brown. I'm no Council Member, but neither should really be a problem...but Anakin's glove wasn't black.

Not so much a replica of Anakin's costume as inspired by it My existing costume is an all black recreation of Anakin's costume (although the cloak still has to be ordered) but it was obviously too dark to be accepted by the Council. What I'd hoped to be able to do with my new costume, is incorporate some of the existing parts (such as the black leather tabards) with terracotta tunic and pants, but from my discussions with Xana, I think that my idea (as in the picture) will be too dark, hence why I'm probably going to have to go for a more traditional color (The glove isn't the gauntlet Anakin was wearing, but a prop glove intended to give the appearance of an artificial hand (probably to be enhanced digitally))

Right...no black cloak and probably no black tabbards. You CAN have the dark brown in each and the tunics.

If I could've included the black leather tabards, I probably would've stuck with the terracotta theme, but if it means making new ones, I'd rather go for the traditional colors I know will be accepted rather then risk something else I had thought of making some tabards from dark brown leather but if I were to do that, I'd have to have matching boots and belt (I'm a real stickler for things like that with my everyday clothes, my jacket, belt and shoes always match and I tend to wear a watch that compliments them) and at the moment, that's a bit beyond my budget, so I'll probably play it safe and stick to off-white

Even if I were full-blown lightside, I love dark colors, so I think both tunics are really hot. But the top is my fav

Dark colours are good for street clothes, but dark brown is about as dark as it gets with Jedi. Of course you could do a really nice REPLICA of Luke ROTJ! I think you'd look a bit strange in Luminara's or Barriss's costumes, but then..........
Tanzan, I think that 2nd one is really a beauty, and you'll make a fabulous Jedi in it! Just wait till the first time a kid sees you and KNOWS that you are a Jedi, it's the best! Their faces just light up and they just think it's so cool!

Okay, I know I'd said I'd go for an off-white costume, but I'm still trying to decide if I should go for an off-white costume, and wondered how people thought this sounds: Black boots, obi and belt. Dark brown pants Terracotta tunic Cream undertunic Dark brown synthleather tabards No robe for TJA photos, but would be a black Ep II style cloak. I also thought I'd post this pic I took the other day.

Well, just change the boots, belt, obi and cloak to a non-black shade of brown and it would work fine. Actually, I've found that dark-chocolate brown looks good on most people.

Sadly, I don't have the available finances to buy a new pair of boots and a new belt (the obi would only cost pence) which is why there's been so much debate as to how much black I can have in my costume, as I'm trying to carry over as much as possible from the old costume to the new one simply to keep costs down ;D I'm not too worried about the cloak, because there was no way I was having a brown cloak made all the time I have black boots and belt. I'll simply not wear it for Assembly photos. The rules are that a costume must have belt, boots and a saber. Cloaks or robes are optional. Even now, as one Jedi seems to be wearing wellington boots, and even one member of the Council has a main photo with no lightsaber (and no lightsaber photo on the profile) I suspect that there is some leniency as to costuming requirements, ;D

They all have lightsabers, I've seen 'em. They just don't all know how to upload them to the main site. What are Wellington Boots and where are they on the site? PM or e-mail it to me please. Alos, everyone should please note that some people have been members for a while, and as our standards tighten, we don't just kick people out. Some people have non-cannon colors, but still look Jedi. So we let them in. But that can cause big problems, so we revise things. But we won't just boot them. We HAVE thought about asking some to upgrade, send a better photo, add a lightsaber pic, etc. but right now we have tons on our hands as it is. ;D

Ive noticed a few pics that are not up to scratch... alot of people using the big hasbro sabers and normal belts and such. I remember long ago I submitted a costume pic that I figured was "good enough" and that was rejected.. and I had a machined saber and everything. After that I decided that my next application would be the best I could possibly make it... and that was oh going on a year and a half now... and I'm still not done!
Maybe we should purge all the old Jedi with unacceptable costumes... wait a second...

Woah Woah, I have a quick question...Is it true that you cant have black boots? Because the only boots I can afford are available ONLY in black.
