My Gilrfriend, Angie, had only a casual knowledge of Star Wars, but she thinks my love for it is cool and wants to be involved in the same things that I like. This weekend she watched 3 1/2 of the 5 Movies with me. She even got a jedi braid woven into her hair. A few weeks ago she had me put on one of my costumes so she could take pics of me for her photography class. I got her an A. She has bought me numerous star wars stuff lately too. And as far as my other hobby, Volkswagens. She is going with me to Roswell, NM in June for the New Beetle car show. SHe will be my co-pilot and help set up the display. I have started doing a few things with her that she likes, although most of what she likes, I already enjoyed. I find I would rather spend time with her than watching 4 hours of TV everynight like I have done for the past several years. If a girl really likes you then she will want to know more about the stuff that you like. Even if it is 'geeky' star wars stuff. I plan to get her in costume by the time the movie comes out. ;D

I don't think it's so much a male/female thing as opposed to geek/non-geek thing. I know a lot of guys who don't get it either. And some girls who are rather cool!
So far, I've had some pretty positive response from the average person if I am directly talking to them. But I see many people who give me odd looks while I'm in costume. I had a group of teenagers point and laugh at me.
I guess I wasn't bling enough for them....
