Please note from our Rules and Regulations:
" “Dark” Jedi costumes: Only Luke’s from ROTJ, Barriss Offee’s, and Luminara Unduli’s are being accepted at this time.
No Sith costumes or black versions of Jedi costumes are being accepted."
We are a lightside Jedi group.

Yeah, Asajj Ventress would not work out in the Jedi Assembly. But aside from that, where did this non-long-skinny-neck version of her come from?
From a hall costume point-of-view the costume wouldn't be recognized because Ventress's image is so tied to the cartoon image. Without the neck, I doubt that the costume would get much acceptance as Ventress.
The only way I could think of doing the long-skiinny-neck type alien is to do it onstage at a masquerade. Ooooh, if I could do the Jedi Council as a group entry at a Worldcon, I would.

Yea the only thing that says "Ventress" to me in that pic is the head tattoos.

I have made the costume. But I also believe there are some good tutorial points on The force.net board. I would check the costume page. hehehe Good luck.! ;D I have also made part of the Darth Nihilus Costume (From KOTOR)....so there is nothing wrong with a little "branching out."

Just when I was thinking that you couldn't possibly do a convncing Ventress because hurdle of doing the impossibly long neck, I saw one walk by at CIII. Picture at:

Aside from the great outfit, EXCELLENT light sabers, too.

Here's another great Ventress costume from CIII:

Keep in mind that the long neck from the clone wars is part of the art style. They all have slightly exagerated features. Just look at Anakin.
Those are both great costumes. I know I saw a few walking around. Must have been them. IT would be a great costume to tackle as a project.

Keep in mind that the long neck from the clone wars is part of the art style. They all have slightly exagerated features. Just look at Anakin. I think that neck in the cartoon isn't just exaggeration. It was drawn like Asajj is one of those long, skinny-neck sentients that you saw on Camino(sp?) or that guy on the Jedi Council. But the art style of the cartoon did give the costumers some terrific latitude for CIII.

Here is a pic I found on the web of Anakin fighting Asajj. Their necks don't appear to be much different in length. Although Asajj's is skinnier, but she aslo doesn't have as much muscly on her as Anakin...so that could be why his neck is thicker. Here is another pic with both of them. If Anakin was the same scale then his neck would be only slightly shorter than Asajj's One more pic. This one from the starwars.com databank. Asajj looks very humanoid with an average sized neck. I don't think they were trying make her look like either of the long-necked aliens you mentioned. For one think her facial features are much to human like compaired to either of them. Also her neck is too short to be one of them. It looks to me more like body modification. There are the tribes were the women add rings around their neck to stretch them and make them look longer. It seems like that is what Asajj has done. Her collar even looks like something that would do that. Ki-Ade I hope you are able to pull this costume off for your Fiancee. I am sure that anyone wearing one would get a lot of attention.

True, her facial features are more human than the skinny-neck sentients in the movies. But that neck is a LOT of exaggeration, much moreso than Anakin's and certainly more than Padme's, who is closer to Ventress in terms of thinness.
Now, the skinny-neck sentients didn't have noses. Ventress doesn't have much of a nose, but it still looks like a nose and not slits. That make her still within the range of hall costuming. But you still have to only approximate the neck. Obviously that works just fine for a great looking Ventress from the CIII costumes.
Of course, I don't know what to think of that Picasso-like honker they gave Qui-Gon in the dream sequence, so the case for exaggeration is valid.

Gary seems to have lost interest in this thread.
And this message board, too.
Or maybe he's just been busy.
