Jaryk, this DietVanillaMike is your friend? I think you've got this gentleman mixed up with your friend locally who is doing the wookie costume.

I've been thinking, if you don't want to mess with the stilts you could do a Wookie Padawan costume. That would be the right size i think.

If you're still having trouble with your lightsaber, I'd be happy to try and do something for you and then ship it over to you when it's completed, my only concern is that I don't really have access to any suitable woods locally, if you could get some decent wood to me, I could work to a design for you if you had something definite in mind, 0r, I could do something similar to this wookie lightsaber I recently saw on eBay: Let me know if I can be of any help at all

yeah thats the tyvokka lightsaber replica, and i would love help on anything right now, i have some wood here, (i live on the side of a freakin mountain currently) what kind should i look for, and how much of it. im willing to pay for any help.
andthe colors i chose make me apear to be an old wookiee, i need to be kind of tall, my new idea for the stilts will work better than the current onesi have, and will make me even taller

I think a hardwood would be better than a soft wood, as it'd be more dureable, as for the amount of it, just one decent sized stick should suffice. Do you have an actual design concept for the saber, or any design details you'd want included? If you PM me with some details, I'll see what I could come up with for you, and suggest what kind of size chunk of wood would be best to look for. As for price, if you pay for shipping the wood over, and re-imbursement of approved parts (say for the emitter, end cap and activation plate) I'd be happy to do it for free

The lower sabre is my wookiee sabre I made. I can't get a second pic up here but on the other side I have an exposed quartz crystal instead of a metal emitter.
