as to books.... anyone ever read Roger Zelazny's "Chronicles of Amber" series? 10 books covering father and son. or his book "Eye of Cat"?
OR
Philip Jose Farmer's "Dayworld" series or "World of Tiers" books?
ANYTHING Tolkien or C.S.Lewis is a given for me.

Um what is this about fandom AFTER Star Wars? A whole lot of my fandom came BEFORE Star Wars. And there will be plenty after, too.
Mostly science fiction and fantasy for me -- books, movies, TV, some comics...
-- Buffy, Angel -- Star Trek (except the last series) -- a little Stargate, LOTR, Harry Potter looking forward to Serenity, but not with too many expectations; they get in the way of enjoying a movie for me. -- books: Lois Bujold, Barbara Hambly; I've been reading Terry Pratchett lately and I'll confess to indulging in the Mecedes Lackey Valdemar series. I did read the latest Elfquest graphic novel; not bad. I still have most of the comics. -- SF costuming in general. -- old favorites, Dr. Who, Greatest American Hero, Brisco County, Jr., Outer Limits (the original); anyone remember Max Headroom? And probably a lot more that I'm forgetting.

I've been SW since 1977.... ain't about to stop now. I'm just getting deeper into it.
I really have narrow interetsts and they change frequently. 15-25 years ago I would have said Stephen King. 15 years ago I was HUGE into Indy Cars (the split with IRL just killed it for me -- and I can't get into NASCAR), 8-10 years ago it was Breyer model horses (wow it doesn't seem that long ago). SW was always there, though, lurking... like when the new movies would come out, or the books or museum exhibits. Now I am 100% Star Wars.
I do have other things of course. I love horses and horse racing, but don't compete in them and I don't have a horse (after all these many years of dreaming and yearning for one). I like a lot of stuff but not enough to get deeply into. The ORIGINAL Battlestar Galactica is a fav, I like Stargate, but they are just not the same. I've read HP and enjoyed them (except book 5 for some reason I just could notget thorugh, so I haven't read the newest). BUt SW is a first love. One I shall ever hold dear.

I used "after" as in... After Star Wars what are your other hobbies or interests. implying that SW would be first on the list.

I've been in scifi/fantasy and horror way before Star Wars and Star Trek, esp. in reading, and will continue to be. Star Wars is just one facet of my life. I've been a costumer since 1973. I'm even on committee for local scifi/fantasy/horror literary con, with costuming too. And now that I write in thew genres and paranormsal romances too. well. . . JMD

Hmm... well after Star Wars would come all the other things I love to do... like writing and painting, and stargazing... camping, hiking... skating... guitar playing... being a mom.... and the newest things: kickboxing and learning to ride a motorcycle!

Let's see, After Star Wars, (actually this one is right up there with it) Queen! After them: I grew up on old Sci Fi & Horror stuff, movies & books, the good stuff that predates the let's cut up naked teenagers type, ( I'll except Nightmare on Elm St from that junk) Books, Books & more Books! I love Valdamar, have read all of them and her Racecar Elves and Det. Witch books are likewise some of my fav. fantasy stuff. I'm waiting for a Valdamar Film, it'll happen eventually. Robert Hienlien, Andre Norton, and some of the SF writers from the 50's & 60's, McCaffery's Dragons are great, music, horses, I ride when I can, bowling every week, and 30 + years of costuming, all sorts of stuff, I love to do period celtic thru 19th centuries and of course sci fi & fantasy, Ren. faire Rat since way to long ago. Love to cook, but only for lots of people, like about 100 at a time, and then only medieval or rennaisance stuff (no baked potatoes, no chocolate cake, no lots of other stuff, it's not period!). Concerts, travel. Go to the UK! Yeah! Cats! Never live without a cat, even one that's possesed! Theatre! Movies! Lots more, this could go on forever. Fireball XL5, (a long time ago.....) Capt. Video, (even longer......)

Let's see... The ALIEN series with Aliens being my favourite. Star Trek: TOS, Movies, TNG, DS9, and VOY but NOT Enterprise (UGH!). The Terminator trilogy (in fact just about all of Arnie's films- even the lousy ones. ) The Matrix- including the Animatrix and Enter the Matrix pc game. The Predator films- still think the first is the best. Mad Max, Robocop, BSG, Red Dawn, most James Bond films (Connery was the greatest!) Rambo ( yes Rambo) action films, war films, and various other sci-fi. Classic comedies such as Laurel and Hardy, Dr. Strangelove, the Pink Panther series, The Blues Brothers, Animal House... As for costuming... Aliens- United States Colonial marine Star Trek- Captain's uniform from TOS, ST:II, TNG,VOY, & DS9 The Terminator- looked a lot better when I was working out. Red Dawn guerrilla fighter. Saving Private Ryan- 2nd Army Rangers uniform. Platoon- grunt. LAPD SWAT- after seeing "Speed". Braveheart- looked better when I had long hair. Latest project is the Soviet Paratrooper from "Red Dawn". I think that about covers it. LOL!

After starwars anything asian. Such as godzilla, anime, kung fu, oh and I love the bloodsport and kickboxer series. The closest thing next to star wars would be between halo and predator/aliens. (interesting fact, in the original alien movie the main ship was made out of several darth vader tie fighter model kits)

Most Sci fi. I've read & watched. Star Gate, Star Trek, Farscape, Dead Zone, & other Sci Fi shows. I'm waiting for the Star Wars shows when they are out. But I'll only dress as a Jedi.
