Looks very nice Schph. As for the tweaking (like any costume), is tweaking ever really DONE?

Ooooooh, looks great.....for a stormtrooper that is.
When I did a Mardi Gras parade last year, the wife of one of the troopers wore her husband's spare armor for the first time. Afterwards, whe pointed out all the places where her armor had pinched her. These were treated like 'war wounds' by the other troopers, like you weren't truly broken in until your costume had bitten you. Did you get pinched?

The only time I have ever heard of 501st-only events is when the sponsoring organization specifically asked for only stormtroopers and Sith.
Otherwise, they have been quite open to other SW costumers joining them -- with the provision that it be a movie-accurate costume. Generally, members of other SW costuming groups like Rebel Legion and Jedi Assembly are preferred, but it's not limited to those groups; it's the quality of the costume that really matters.

I'm told differently, that to join one must have a screen accurate Imperial aligned costume. I mentioned I did have a costume, a Jedi, and the woman I spoke with was QUITE specific on how Jedi in the 501st must be 'recognizable'. So.. Maul, Vader, Dooku, Palpy.. etc. She said 'something the general public would recognize. (somehow Mara Jade fits the bill don't ask me why). But.. unless you're bald and chalk white.. there were no evil aligned female Jedi. Are we just talking about trooping here Schph? Or did you join the 501st without a costume? -X

I was at Mardi Gras in a Rebel Trooper and the ROTS premiere and the DVD release as Jedi.<shrug>
Are those specs to join the 501st? Perhaps I've misunderstood, now that I'm typing this....do you mean joining the 501st itself???
In that case, what the lady said was absolutely true. They only accept dark side costumes in the 501st. I'm sure that Ventress would qualify for a female dark side costume in the 501st. Mara Jade used to work for Palpatine, so she would qualify as well. The situation with Mara is the same as for Anakin. An Anakin Skywalker costume can be in either Jedi Assembly or 501st since he was Jedi or Sith at different times.
However, often you don't need to be a member of the 501st to join them for an event in a SW costume, unless the event sponsor specified troopers or Sith-only.

Are we just talking about trooping here Schph? Or did you join the 501st without a costume? -X I already am a member of the 501st and have been for several years...I have an Imperial Officer's uniform .... As far as Jedi in the 501st....only "Dark Jedi" and Sith are even considered....Mara Jade is included because she was the "Emperor's Hand" at one time...only the costume she wore in that role is accepted...I think. As far as what to wear to what event...as always...it depends on what the person in charge of the event or the sponsor is looking for...I have worn my Jedi to many more local 501st events than my Imperial Officer...I leave the decision of what they want me to wear up to the person in charge of the event...if they don't care..then I usually wear my Jedi. It really depends a great deal on the event in question...

I already am a member of the 501st and have been for several years...I have an Imperial Officer's uniform .... Ahh.. that explains it. As far as Jedi in the 501st....only "Dark Jedi" and Sith are even considered....Mara Jade is included because she was the "Emperor's Hand" at one time...only the costume she wore in that role is accepted...I think. Oh yah aware of her history but.. for some reason allowance of EU characters seems to be VERY based on how 'kewl' they are or how well known. It's a very odd judgement system lol. Seems like the more fanbois drool over an EU character the more acceptable it is as far as 'Canon'. Though.. seems like another EU character would not be so welcome. It's odd. Ahh so.. it all depends on how liberal the CO is? Hmmm... ok thanks for the info. -X
