While it might be interesting to see what could be done for a storyline for 7, 8, and 9, I don't think I would like the idea of recreating 4, 5, and 6. These to me have a historical nature about them. They changed everything in cinema, merchandising, and most importanly, fandom. It's likely that none of us would be here on this forum meeting new people, and enjoying the debates and conversations about this incredible series of movies were it not for the OT.
I would certainly encourage film and/or TV adaptations of many of the EU stories...but only if they were well-done and paid homage to the wonderful imaginary universe that George created for us.

Agh! I have to respectfully disagree, Jedividal030...40, um...Vidal, for short, yes?! I have to side with my fellow knight, Darcu RyMal in this matter.
What we see in the Original Trilogy, in its original form, is far from spectacular by today's standards, but it's still impressive. And Lucas already made your idea a reality with the enhanced version of the original when he re-released it in 1998! If anything, I think he might have gone a little overboard when he made Episodes I through III. Yes, the galaxy is filled with creatures of all size, shape, and color, and that's what makes it wonderful; diversity. However, working within the limitations of the technology of the time with Episodes IV through VI helped Lucas stay grounded, and that's a very important feature of any story, but especially the Star Wars movies in their original state. Star Wars appealed to every person, young, old, male, female, Black, White, and everything in between, because it wasn't sooooo far-fetched that it flew over people's heads; it was a basic story of good and evil, with a princess, a pirate, and a patriarch. And that, my friend, needs desperately to be preserved as such.
May the Force be with you.

This is something that belongs to the fans with their fan films. Lucas has said time and time again there is no more story after Anakin dies; why, I don't know since it would be more money for him. So any kind of petition (patision as you call it) won't do anything. What would that accomplish? We can't force GL to do anything.
