Alright so this might have been discused elswhere in this place. But i was thinking in ROTJ when luke and leia talk...
Princess Leia: Luke, what's wrong? Luke: Leia, do you remember your mother? Your real mother? Princess Leia: Just a little bit. She died when I was very young. Luke: What do you remember? Princess Leia: Just... images really. Feelings. Luke: Tell me. Princess Leia: She was... very beautiful. Kind, but sad. Why are you asking me this? Luke: I have no memory of my mother. I never knew her.
Did they really mess this up as in leia shouldnt have remembered her because she died giving child birth? I was just wondering on it lol

The general assumption is that George Lucas changed his mind about what happened to Luke and Leia's mother.
In the context of the story it is assumed that Leia was remembering her mother through the Force, thus proving that she had some of her father's talents. The Organas never corrected her about it since they'd lied about who her mother was anyway.
Dramatically, for ROTS, Padme really couldn't have survived. It fit so well that she was dying when Darth Vader was being 'born'. And if she had lived, that would have meant that Darth Vader would have been her ex. Thus leading to possibly the worst sit-com concept in space-fantasy history.

I sort of always thought of it a bit backward. Leia wasn't told she was adopted and thought the Organa's were her real parents. Then she met Luke and began having disturbing feelings and emotions that confused her relationship with him from the outset. As things continued and she learned Vader was Luke's father it further confused her until Luke told her she was his sister and then it all sort of went "Boing" and made sense to her....which is why I thought she had said ..."Somehow I've always known."

No, in ROTJ, Luke first ask her about her 'real' mother and she says that her mother died when she was very young, so that implies that she knew she was adopted.
Then Luke tells Leia that Vader that he's his father and she gets that 'Eeeeww' look on her face.
Then Luke tells Leia that his sister has that power (the Force) and she figures out that's her.
I guess Luke was tired of getting the real story in bits and pieces and gave to to Leia straight right away.

One EU Story that backs this up is of the Cloned Emperor, in "Dark Empire" Baby Anakin Solo was taken by the cloned Emperor. But later on in another story Anakin recounts the events as if he were there showing that he remebered what had happend. I guess Luke was tired of getting the real story in bits and pieces and gave to to Leia straight right away.

Here we go again... Yeah, that's one thing I can't figure out. For years and years, my guess was that Leia's mother died when she was a toddler. The really crazy part is that, even though Padme' gave Leia a strained smile (I think), it was Luke she actually touched. And Luke was born first. So why didn't Luke remember her? Did Kenobi erase his memories or something? Who knows. It's one of the little mysteries of SW that I think can't be solved. For now...

looks like this is one of the things that georgie had to change to make the story pace right, because I just re-read the novelisation of rotj and Luke even remembers his mother, and not just in a force-sense fashion (lawrence kasdan {the author} distinguishes between force and real life very specifically).
Another interesting thing, is that in the rotj book, Uncle Owen is Obi Wan's brother!
heh heh

I think her memory of her mother is due in part to the Force. As Yoda once said:
"Through the Force, things you will see. Other places, the future, the past, old friends long gone."

You know that ewwwwwwwww look could be also acount that you know she had feelings for saying she was playing playing hard to get. When she kissed Luke in-front of Han. I mean come on I hate to put it this way but. probably the best one in the Skywalker family is that of Anakin Skywalker can he help it if he was influenced by the dark side. At lease he was not having impure thoughts about his sister like luke did.

Give Luke a break! He didn't know. And Anakin didn't have a sister. Unless George decides to pull another fast one and give us another Skywalker family revelation; Anakin wasn't an only child after all! JK!

Yes, i remember the Ben & Owen relationship was originally they were brothers, but then, Jabba the Hutt was originally a really fat guy in a kilt too!
