I'm not sure who's seen it and who has, but I'm making a post about a very in-depth documentary of the Star Wars OT thats on the DVD set called Empire of Dreams. Before I got the DVD set, I oringally saw this on A&E.
The documentary itself is very well done. It puts you in with all the hard ships that Lucas and crew had to suffer jsut to finally bring it to screen. It makes you not only more of a fan of the saga, but much more thankful just to know Lucas worked so hard to make his dream a possibility, which made a huge, huge impact on the entertainment industry.
But of course, it's not just full of hardships and horror stories, but lets you get to see how everyone acted on set, what techniques and tricks were used in creating the film, and of course some comical moments throught the filming of the movie. Everythign about this documentary that I can tell you about wouldn't be suprising to the average Star Wars fan, but just to see it gives you a whole new look on the franchise and a new found respect for Lucas and all the crew that worked so hard on all 3 films. It's no wonder that of all the documentaries, this one was chosen to be put with the DVD collection.
After watching my only regret was that I wasn't born earlier enough to see at least one of the films on their original theatrical release. Sure I got to see the Special Editions.....but the originals are the originals that set the impact on the world of sci-fi. My mother had me when she was goin on 30.....come on! She (or my dad) shoulda tried harder! XD
