The only really dumb remarks I've heard when I'm in costume are cracks about dating, implying that anyone who is a costumer is such a nerd that they can't possibly have a social life. That and a DJ who seemed shocked to see a female Jedi. (I have his exact words quoted in my signature on the Alpine Garrison board: "The Jedi's a chick!") We have social lives! We hang with other geeks! ;D I guess that guy never saw Ayyla, eh?

Yeah, what in the world would I do without you guys! I'd be living alone in my own little SW world. Save for my son, who has been well bred into this imaginary universe, I'd be all by my lonesome! I mean I drive my realist husband nuts with this stuff! Poor fellow, he needs a SW spouse support group!

And as far as handling that drunk guy at Chiller last year... people like that want a confrontation. They want to piss you off... it's how they get their kicks. So the thing to do is either beat him at his own game, or ignore him... kinda like Jar Jar. Last year we ignored him to the point where he got in our faces and felt inclined to tell us (in his limited vocabulary) what he thought of Anakin, and my response, I hate to say, was not all that different! This year, I'll be more prepared for the likes of him. Maybe we can torture him with logic! Or answer him with questions. He'll be forced to think, which may cause him to self combust!

Well......our Anakin hating buddy did have one drink too much when he starteed his....*AHEM*....discussion with us. Making him think logically while in that state of mind might be fun for the moment...... . We could also ignore him unless he follows us......

As for replying to him, hey if you didn't say it, I was going to. I was going to look for security if he came back, too. Bow and walk away....... that's not a bad idea. Wonder if it would work? Torture him with logic and keep our sabers drwan............ sounds like a plan.

I just read the thread. Now getting back to young Anakin in ROTJ... To me it doesn't make sense (not that I didn't like seeing "good" Anakin once again). If Anakin's spirit was supposed to be his "Lightside" image, why show him as a young man? Anakin returned to the Lightside when he threw the Emperor down the shaft yes? If the point is showing Anakin in his prime, why didn't Obi-Wan and Yoda return to their younger selves? People have mentioned Sebastian Shaw- that his family must feel terrible. I guess everyone forgets that Lucas did the same thing to David Prowse when filming the OT. David believed that it would be his face revealed during Vader's unmasking- but the scene was actually filmed out of sequence without David's knowledge. Needless to say this caused a huge falling out between David and George. Frankly I think David looks more like Luke's father than Sebastian ever did.

Yes, and David also believed his voice would be used as Vader, which didn't happen either.

Where were Boba Fett's lines changed, and what to?
I havent seen the DVD changes, but I think it would be a good idea to change Sebastian Shaw's face to Hayden's at the end of rotj. He is simply a more recogniseable image - even before I saw any of the prequels, I had a hard time connecting Shaw with the character of Anakin. When his helmet was taken off on the death star, his face was severely scarred, and this combined with the faded spirit image meant that I just assumed he was Anakin, which was confirmed later... when I watched it I didn't think "Wow, Anakin is finally good again"; I thought "That must be Anakin."
I think they should have had Anakin's whole body there though, instead of just the head.

Boba fett's lines themselves remain the same however the voice has been re-dubbed with Temuera Morrison's voice. I believe this is to keep the continuity that Boba Fett is a clone. And I hate the change as well. Boba Fett was the coolest bad guys from the OT- his voice in particular defined his character. It was so raspy- kinda like Clint Eastwood's; you knew he was a tough guy. The only one who wasn't intimidated by Vader.

If the point is showing Anakin in his prime, why didn't Obi-Wan and Yoda return to their younger selves? Because when Yoda and Obi-Wan died, they became part of the Force after living their lives entirely on the light side. When Anakin died he shed the Vader latter-half of his whole life to become one with the Force as well. So, it makes perfect sense to me that the Anakin that was last connected to the light side appears.
Now, we could go on about the metaphorical meaning of spectal-Anakin's costume change at the end. We NEVER saw Anakin wear anything like that in life as an adult. That is the strongest indication in the movies to me that there is some symbolic meaning to the Jedi costume and colors.

I read that the reason George Lucas did this is quite simple. When a Jedi dies, only their LIGHTSIDE "version" of their spirit becomes one with the force.........in that, the light side in Anakin "died" after he helped Palpatine bring up the galactic empire........meaning you would only see his young-self when he was still full of love for Amidala, and a part of the Jedi order. The only thing I DON'T like about this change is that, from what I've seen so far, Hayden doesn't follow where he's supposed to be looking. So when you see obi-wan and yoda looking over at luke, hayden's doing his own little thing. I could be wrong though, I've only seen still shots and have yet to buy the actual DVD versions.

I feel deprived as I nor anyone else I know has the DVD's. I would love to see how it looks with young Anakin there. But I'm definatly not likeing that Boba Fett's voice was changed. I loved his voice, yet if he were after me, and I heard that voice, I'd probably cry for my mommy. His and Vader's voices were the most sinister voices I had ever heard in any movie. I know I'm going to cringe when I hear the dubbed lines.
