I hope so too. I hope he's able to enjoy his party in 2 weeks.
Tonight is supposed to be 27 degrees here. I had to bring all my plants inside and now my house is a jungle lol! I swear they got 3 times the size... especially the hibiscus and the avocado tree!

Scary moment today for my dad and I. We were stuck in heavy, stop-and-go traffic...and then got rear-ended! We were both shook up, but no injuries. Thankfully it was at such a slow speed (maybe 5 MPH) that the damage to the car was so minimal that after dad and the other driver exchanged insurance information we were able to keep going on our errands. The other driver was OK and very polite.
All I can say is, thank goodness for seatbelts! It was the very first time I was in any kind of car accident and it scared the crap out of me. *shudders*

Happy to hear that you both are safe. Seatbelts are a great invention, and mine saved me years ago, too. I was terribly rear ended by an idiot in a hurry to get to a ski mountain in upstate NY. He was driving his girlfriend's extra large Suburban and slid 10 feet on an exit ramp, hit me so hard that he moved my '87 Sentra 2 feet. My seatbelt prevented my face from being smashed on my steering wheel. I actually felt the hairs on the tip of my nose touch the steering wheel. The body shop had to toal my car because the frame was bent and the rear end was pushed a bit into the trunk, and the cost for repairs was greater than the value of the car. I had whiplash and had to have a cervical collar for a week around my neck. Period.

Wow, glad you are safe Cara. Any accident is scary. Just hearing that crunch of metal... Cal you would have been hurt much worse had it not been for that seatbelt! My 18 yr old son got pulled over for the first time last Sat night... He' was driving with a friend (which I've asked him not to do since he's only been driving for a few weeks and he gets distracted) and he stopped too far in the middle of an intersection when the light turned red, but the problem was that it was 1 in the morning and he was driving beyond the teen curfew. Plus he didn't have the proper red stickers on the car, required by all teen drivers in NJ. I didn't even know he was supposed to have stickers Well now he has a mandatory court appearance. I hope he just gets a fine. He's miserable about it. Lesson learned.

I really need to get back here for good. I am missing everything about the people I care about so much.
Got my shoulder fixed and I'll be going back to work Nov.15th.....finally...... money coming in again. I'm going to start sewing again and getting my costumes repaired and new ones made.
Oh, my prayers to everyone in the path of Sandy.....hope she takes a turn out to sea.......

Prayers needed for people out in the sea indeed! My sister and brother in law and thier entire family are on a cruise ship out by where Sandy started from, The Carribean! They are coming back into port on Saturday and I hope they are ok as we can't get any contact with them.
I pray to the Lord God of heavenly Force that they will be safe!

Sandy is predicted to affect the northeast come Monday and Tuesday... Last year our October storm brought down huge trees in my yard and cancelled Trick-or-Treat... hoping she blows further out to sea but it doesn't look like it. Diana I hope you hear from your sister soon!! It's hard not knowing whats going on!
