I was born & raised in Miami. My parents retired from the Dade County schools, and we moved north to Gainesville in the early '80s. After they passed away, I was asked to help with some family-related things in Ocala, so I ended up moving south; been here five years. Ocala is about 40 miles south of Gainesville, both in the North Central part of the state. I would've posted in the Southern Order subforum just to say hello, but didn't see an open intro thread there. Thanks, Nova, for the welcome.

Greetings Del-Nara, and Welcome to TJA. We look forward to seeing your progress toward finishing a new set of Jedi garb. Keep posting, I look forward to seeing your posts. Where is Ocala in FL, I forget my FL geography, I lived near Miami as a kid.

I haven't seen any trailers either, but I am looking forward to seeing what happens after Rey offered Luke his "long lost" lightsaber. <fingers crossed>

I did post a separate thread in this forum, but wanted to chime in here. I'm in my mid-50s and although I've seen all of the Star Wars films, I still gravitate toward the Original Trilogy. That's why my generic Jedi costume (I hope) will be in keeping with what I grew up on, except for the robe... I live in Florida. BTW, I haven't introduced myself in the Southern Order subforum.

I discovered TJA's website years ago, when I began doing research on Jedi costuming & deciding whether to buy or build a lightsaber hilt. Although I did see members at the Dragon*Con parades, I never met any; I was marching with another fan group. I'd never stopped at any Assembly table or met with anyone from the group. I tried to get information about joining via email, but never got a reply.
When I found the updated TJA website & the new forums, I decided to "pull the trigger" and sign up. I'm glad I got approved and now looking forward to get a new Jedi costume together, submitting, and (finally) becoming a full member of TJA.

I'm Anne, a native Floridian and long time Star Wars fan [original trilogy (Episodes IV-VI)]. I'm currently in Ocala, which would put me in the territory of the Southern Order. I've visited TJA's Jedi costuming tutorial section many times over the years. I was always a fan of the Jedi; my favorite character was Obi-Wan Kenobi (played by the late Sir Alec Guinness), but I liked Yoda too.
I've covered Star Trek, Stargate SG-1/Atlantis, Babylon 5 & Battlestar Galactica costuming over the years. I once put together a B5 Ranger One costume, wore it to MegaCon in Orlando one year, and had several people mistake me for being a Jedi... which I now take as a complement. I'm looking forward to putting together a generic Jedi costume (with skirt) for my "character," Del-Nara Lanith. So I'd appreciate all the assistance I can get.
I look forward to sharing progress on my costume in the days & months ahead with you all... and to the day when I can officially become a member of The Jedi Assembly & the Southern Order.
Thanks for letting me join in.

I had a great time at CVIII, spent much time at the TJA table, we raised a respectable sum on the raffle for St. Judes. Gave out wooden challenge coins, temporary Tattoos and crystals. Went to a couple of panels. And watched Rogue One, ANH, ESB, ROTJ and Force Awakens on the lovely big screen. Very much enjoyed the Droid Builders room and the 501st room as well.

The application section of the website will be functioning very soon. I'll make a huge announcement when it is. Until then, you can read through the costume code and assemble the application photos required.

Greetings, from Seattle, Wa. Was at SWCO 2017 this past weekend. Meet you at your booth. Nice talking with you. I have a Jedi costume all made, and approved by a few of the other local star wars fan bases and the outer rim database. I was wondering how I could join the Assembly with it? Thank you

It's great to have the site back up and running again. My only question is how do we submit photos to have our costume approved? You can post pics of your costume for critiquing and the application section of the website should be working soon. when that's up and running we"ll start accepting new members.
