My custom metal saber (with electronics for the blade) felt from the wall, about 8 foot drop, and didn't break. That's without all the times I droped it while trooping. would it have been resin I would need to buy another one.
This said, I agree I would mind less if a resin one breaks then the metal one. Also, as richardlillard said, its a cheaper alternative.
I am myself in the market for a Obi-Wan EP2 saber in resin. I saw the metal one and 1-its too pricey 2-it seams to weight 4-5 times what my metal custom one weights... :-(
if I can just find someone who sells OWK-ep2 resin saber, I'll be happy to use it with my costumes.
