Well if you need a cheap alternative resin is definately the way to go. And I agree with Ky-Wan about it being lighter on the belt. I read somewhere that Ewan McGregor preferred a resin prop because the metal one they machined for him was too heavy and kept weighing the side of his belt down. Now if there were a way to get custom resin props that looked very good, and could be replaced or repaired should anything happen, then resin would be a little more reasonable.
