oh i have a lightsaber i made myself, but i didnt want to have my costume with just a hardware saber. i wanted something that looked a little more professional (no offense of course to anybody who makes their own hardware sabers) hardware sabers can look amazing, i am just not very skilled when it comes to building things like that Hee hee, practice makes perfect The secret is planning, research, more planning, then lots of patience ;D Even though I made my lightsaber by hand, I wouldn't class it as a hardware saber... To me, hardware sabers are ones that are, not only made from assorted things from hardware stores, but when people can look at the saber and tell exactly what each part is, rather than having to be told what the parts where I agree. Wish we could all have a machine lathe and machining equipment. Having a lathe and a milling machine would be a dream come true (especially as I had access to those things when I lived at my parents, as my dad used to be an engineer) The only power tool I used for my last saber was a generic brand dremel for lines running parallel to the tube, a hacksaw for straight lines across the tube, and the rest was all done by hand-filing... My first attempt with those tools didn't quite turn out to plan, but it showed me what I was doing wrong, and the way I should've been doing things, and how to improve for the future
