Yes, you just wrap it around and tie. However, don't you find the ties bulk up under the belt? I don't have long ties on mine and I just pin them in place.lol...with all the bulk around a Jedi's waist...I guess I don't notice it...but sure...they could be pinned in place....and again...every Jedi is different....so Kryy...you may or may not like the Obi better....let us know....I am putting it in the mail today...so you should get it in a few days....
here is the tutorial at our main site...
www.thejediassembly.com/tutorials.php?id=b5h
if you click on the last illustration of the sash it shows you the basic idea of an Obi...
It came, and I LOVE IT! ;D ;D ;D It is nice and flat and neat, and I think I found my waist again, which was MIA with the bias cut style and all of that fabric, even with the wrinkles tacked down!
I love the bias cut on the principal actors' obis, but this one fits me (and probably a lot of women) much better. Nice and snug and tidy and NO bunching up and NO tug of war!!
But.... confession... I tried it the "correct" way, but then I turned it around and put the solid piece at the back to hold my (Obi-Wan style) tabards tightly in place and then crossed the obi in the front. The ties were long enough to wrap around and go around to the front again, and then I tried Ani's way of the pseudo-knot and then wrapping and tucking the ends.
That was always another part of the obi tug-of-war... keeping the ends of the tabards from popping out of the top of the obi. This one holds them in place perfectly.
I have an event this weekend, so I can't wait to model the "new and improved" and "neater and tidier" me.
Thanks so much Schph!!
