I find this thread hilarious, although I don't have more than one tunic... I make them for other people and everytime it turns out better than my own... I make modifications and such... so I keep saying that I need to make myself a new one! I still use the basic 4450 pattern, but the front part below the belt is now straight down, and there's a six inch flare on each side from the waist down... I've enlarged the hood on the cloak significantly... I made a costume for a friend and she wore it to WonderCon this past weekend... her first time out in any costume ;D and was much admired by our "costuming cousins" in the Rebel Legion... As for Obis, they are always difficult to fit the female form, no matter what your size is... they tend to flare out over the hips... I've tried fastening with velcro and hooks and eyes... velcro was a flop, hooks and eyes work but leave gaps on chubbier people... I haven't tried ties yet, I don't want any extra "padding" around the waist... but maybe in the next go-round.... My next project is to make a T-shirt undertunic in dark brown (mine is beige), then the new tunic.... although my friend's cloak of suedecloth makes me envious... it flows out behind her and make her look POWERFUL! ;D ;D
