I wasn't impressed at first with Joshua Farden, either, but he does grow on you. Just imagine taking over the most iconic role of the time, and being an unknown actor, to boot. Mark would have done better, but he also would have had the advantage of 25 years of experience with the character. He also would have felt confident asking for redirection or rewrites if he felt the character was being taken in a wrong direction. I don't think Joshua could have gotten away with that.
Just my two cents, but then I've heard these at least 50 times each. (Yeah, I'm a nerd. It passes the time in my basement violin shop.) I focus on the story, not necessarily the voices behind it.
