Actually, the copyright would still be in force...it lasts for the lifetime of the author, plus 50 years. So even though the writer has died, the copyright would still be valid. Though I am sure that Lucasfilm has bought the copyright since then
!!We got our copies a few years ago on eBay, and usually listen to them on long car trips. Helps while away the long hours ;D. We really like them, especially all of the extra stuff that helps develop the background stories!! I just checked too, and it looks like you can still buy copies on amazon.com...just in case anyone wants them. I would check eBay too, every once in a while there is someone selling them for a good price.
