Interesting thoughts. I've also written fan fiction, and I've got my own canon, too!
Consider this: if the Jedi took prospects early enough, they likely the younglings never knew their home worlds, and the elder Jedi wouldn't tell them. In the case of humans, they could be from literally anywhere. Yoda may be a different case, since we also don't know much about his particular race. Now consider adopted adults in this galaxy. Those of you in the real world who know and have always known your background certainly would want to pin down a homeworld for everyone, but there are some here who may never know their background. (It is still illegal for some adopted adults to have their OWN birth certificates and medical information. I have great difficulty travelling with my birth certificate, because the real one doesn't have my name on it, and the one with my legal name is not my original, legal certificate.)
Not knowing presents a whole new way of thinking!
