...in my opinion, anyway, Chandrila.
Let's think about it. He's got a British accent, as does Mon Mothma (also a Chandrilan). He's a skilled negotiator who seeks peace before resorting to violence. He loves the Republic and its democratic system. Chandrila, even during the New Order, ran itself on a democratic government (indeed, they were known for their Chandrilan House), and this environment produced many diplomats and negotiators.
According to Wookieepedia, Obi was the "first son of a moderately wealthy family", and "had vague memories of playing with his brother, Owen, and of a green, grassy planet." Chandrila, located in the Core Worlds territory, requires a certain amount of affluence to live there (as do most core worlds). Due to their love of nature, Chandrilan families keep a garden, pond, or some other sort of natural environment in their yards as a symbol of their harmony with nature. The government also requires families to stay small in order to prevent overpopulation.
I'm writing a story about Obi-Wan going to visit his family for the first time since he'd been taken by the Jedi (which, if he has memories of his brother, I'd assume that he'd have been 3 or 4 years old when taken), and it would be difficult to write if I didn't put anything about his home planet in there. Then it'd be like in the Simpsons where, whenever you're about to learn what state Springfield is in, something spoils it or they cut to something else.
Anyway, have any of you Obi-Wan lovers out there thought about where he's from? I'd love to hear what you think and why.
