the biggest problem I have with family guy is the character of brian the dog.
the presmise: a "personal relationship" with your "lord and master", made to look ridiculous.
its a poke at christianity.
the very idea that a human could have a "personal relationship" with a superior being.. well..
you'd have to believe in talking dogs.
or godlike humans.
or whatever.
(their point: you can't have a "personal relationship" with something thats not a "person";
so they "personify" the dog to a point of absurdity, just to ridicule the notion)

having said that, my biggest problem with this episode was I failed to see the "funny" (most of the jokes were lame. robot chicken was a LOT funnier). I barely cracked a smile throughout *shrug*
