I was asked by someone, via PM, if I had made my current Avatar myself, and I did make it.
I had forgotten all about it, till a couple of days ago I while I was looking at the one that Lazlo Toth is using, which looks like a South Park version of Old Ben Kenobi. I don't know where he got that one.
A couple of years ago, before I came here, I was a regular poster at the message board at Obi-Wan's Jedi Academy.
One day, someone posted a link to a game at the Comedy Central site where you could make your own character in the style of South Park. Then he enccouraged people to make versions of themselves and post them in the thread.
You could just change basic parameters for the characters. Some people stopped there, just doing "regular" versions of themselves. But those of us who were more creative, or just bored that day, used whatever photo editing programs we had and put our characters into Star Wars costumes. We had Jedi, Sith, X-Wing pilots and a Bounty Hunter. It was pretty cool to see how creative some of the people got.
For mine, I did myself as Nomi Sunrider, based on this picture:

Here's a larger version of my Avatar, so that you can see more of the detail I put into it:

Keep in mind that I did this on kind of a crummy photo editing program that's a little better then just MS Paint.
I actually plan on doing a costume based on this (the one above the South Park version
) , but I'm going to change the cape and make the outer part green and the inside gold satin.
I already have all the fabric for this, I just have to get the inclination to find out what's wrong with my sewing machine, because I can't figure out why I can no longer adjust the thread tension (it's probably something simple, I hope
). I also want to lose some weight before I wear this costume.
And I plan on making a custom lightsaber for my Nomi character, as I learn more about making them. I have a Lightech electronics kit reserved for this future saber.
I wish the link was still active, it would be fun to see what some of the people here could come up with.
