in the movies sidous makes the sith names after what he intends them to do or what there persoas are like
maul- the large hammer- darth maul was like a wepon that sidous could use to wipe out better yet "smash" conpetors
tyranus(spelld wrong i know)-tyrant- sidous wanted to conquer the universe (wich he did). even though he was playing leader for both sides, tyranus was his puppet for the sepretests agian a fitting name
vader- father- vader was a young father and in sidous' opion later, after vader was old and weak, would use his child as his new apprentice
sidous-insidous- completely perfectly describes palpitine: sneaky, corrupt, and in all, evil.
it may very well describe him more than we know, this name was given to him by his master for the obvious reson of what he would become.
