This is all fascinating. At least now I've a name to put on the sense and a little information of how it works. At least in theory. What more can you guys share? Tanzan, Shatir and all? What about Tai Chi(And the other names it goes by.) has anyone noticed a higher aggressivness with the brain wave shift? A friend of mine seems to be a little more apt to be aggressive during that state.
Well, from my own experiences, I'd say that it depends to a degree on the person's level of training. When I was about 11 or 12, before I learned to controll my temper, a kid at school picked a fight with me, and rather than walking away from it, I used my martial arts to completely overpower them, almost like when Anakin kills the Seperatist Council on Mustafar. I knew the kid couldn't do anything to hurt me, let alone stop me, and I just kept slapping him around until a teacher was called. That's when I realized I had to learn to control my temper, so I started focussing more on the mental disciplines, and learned the self-control I needed.
As for your friend being more aggressive while in that state of heightened mental awareness, it could be a case of they are enjoying their physical prowess, but it could also be a case of the forms have become 'muscle memory', and they are simply executing them not only as efficiently as possible, but also without conscious thought. The incident I mentioned before where my best friend and I were attacked would certainly have seemed to an observer that we were really working the kids over, when from our perspectives, we were simply threatened and reacted as we'd been trained to do without conscious thought.
