Hey all,
It has been a long time since I've posted, (grad school has been a major time drain) but I saw this and thought, "Golly, I bet everyone would get a kick out of this." IGN, which, for those of you who don't know, is video game/pop culture website, has posted a review of the new Force FX Sabers. I myself am not too certain what, exactly, is new about them, because they mention the Mace Windu saber, and I know that was available for purchase back at Dragon Con '04. They mention that these were released in conjunction with the Episode III DVD, so I'm guessing they mean the Anakin and Vader blades specifically...
The reviewer gave the saber an 8.3 out of 10; I think the only things he had against the saber was the price point ($120) and that the sound effects speaker wasn't louder. Other than that, he seemed to be really excited about the thing. Anyway, here's the link:

Some favorite lines from the review:
Not sure if I have to or not, but, for the sake of the younglings, I'll go ahead and warn that there is some mild profanity in the article, but nothing horribly objectionable.
I've thought about getting one of these, as the Parks Sabers are just way out of my price range at this point. Anybody who has one, would you recommend laying down $120 for a hilt with a non-detachable blade?
Cheers!

Some favorite lines from the review:
- If you haven't at some point picked up a stick and made a fool of your self swinging it around, buzzing away like you've got Skywalker Ranch in your mouth, you simply have no imagination whatsoever.
- Legions of convention-going Padawans have suffered the indignity of disrespectful Stormtroopers brandishing rather convincing blasters, and even the Vaders among us don't seem quite as imposing without a proper glowing blade of Sith [butt]-kicking.
- Allow yourself that moment of nerdy bliss and you'll swear you're about to lay down some righteous Jedi justice in some Tatooine dive.
- The polycarbonate blade is impressively strong, able to lay down a pretty sold blow on the unsuspecting Jawa.
Not sure if I have to or not, but, for the sake of the younglings, I'll go ahead and warn that there is some mild profanity in the article, but nothing horribly objectionable.
