I completed the changes on the costume I posted pics of earlier. I put the new pic next to the old one for comparison (earlier pic on the left newer pic on the right):
First off, I darkened the inner tunic with a light wash of diluted black dye and fixed the collar so it would lay down better.
I narrowed the shoulder tucks on the outer tunic so they would fit underneath the tabards. I fixed the tabards so they would lay better (I finally broke down and got a dress form and it's made that kind of thing SO much easier!). I also fixed the outer tunic collar so it would lay down flat. I lengthened the skirt and the tabards, which were both too short before (in my opinion).
I switched out the red and blue food capsules for gold and silver, and replaced the rivets on my belt with correct rivets.
And, last but not least, I switched to a darker pair of pants and boots that I thought go better with this particular outfit.
Of course, I wonder if I did all this work to fix the costume in ways that are almost unnoticeable... but I have that worry a lot of times when I'm correcting flaws in my costumes.
