Tanzan, I never said I sewed it myself, no where have I said as much. I did however sew my obi and cloth tabards.
The point I was making is that its not just my seamstresses accomplishment, it was a team effort, and I never hid that. But I still created the pattern, referencing something else or not, and it works great.
Most of the orginal things I traded was simply time, worth a ton of money or not. I have been working on this costume for almost 4 years now, Been doing teh Jedi think since before AOTC, buying a part at a time...my food capsules were bought in 2000!
Yes 1300 is a chunk of change...for ANAKIN...you cannot get decent boots for thsi costume without spending some scratch, the accuracy involved to have exacting measures on Anakin usually involves alot of money due to the shear amount of leather...Obi-Wan is a cheaper costume due to its mostly fabric parts.
I think everyone can attain this, it just takes time...my first costume cost me 150 bucks.
Sorry you feel this way, but really this thread isn't about how you feel in standards and what you feel is too much for a costume.
Costuming is subjective...I am in it for the accuracy and the details and I am happy thus far. I did this particular costume for several reasons, but for myself I want the MOST accurate, not my fault if its used as a standard,. and if so...i am flattered
Though please Tanzan I ask that you leave your feelings on standards off this thread....if you have any questions on my costume I will be happy to answer them.
