Many of us use cotton gauze as undertunics. I've seen it used very effectively as the outer tunic but the maker doubled it. It's really too thin, as one layer, for outer tunic.

It could also be used as an outer tunic if lined.
Silk gauze might be even thinner, more open weave, not sure. From the site you linked, you'd have to dye it and that's a lot of fabric to try to dye and have it be all the same color.
