Jayden, try this, plug in the machine, turn on the power, on the right side end there should be a wheel shaped thing, look at it to see if there is a screw, if so, try to tighten it a bit and then press the pedal foot. If there is no screw in the center, try turning the wheel toward you until it starts to feel tighter, watch and see if the needle starts moving up and down as you turn it, if it does, then try the pedal foot slowly. If you just bought it, take it back to the store and exchange it or have them show you why it won't work. Sometimes they pack the machines for shipping w/ the wheel loosened, to prevent damage in transit, sometimes they just come loose.
