Everyone who might wonder why the Jedi council members get a seat here should read the above post, such wisdom! Leda, that made perfect sense, thats pretty much exactly what I was thinking but I couldn't have said it any better.
Tanzan is a dedicated costumer, the lengths that he's gone to modify the Gi and the effort he's put into his entire costume is proof of that, but more to the point it looks Jedi... and thats what we want. Its instantly recognisable as a Jedi costume and it has the details that make the nitpickers happy. A karate gi isnt acceptable because of A; its colour and B; its fit, which doesnt look Jedi. But Tanzan's tunic is the right colour and it sits on him like a tunic should, with the proper skirt effect... thats why it should be perfectly acceptable.
