If you want to be sure, start picking out the threads from the center of the collar; they're just there to reinforce the material so it can hold up to being grabbed in fighting. Get a needle and thread the same color as the tunic just in case something comes loose that shouldn't. I can't tell from the picture, but if you have contrasting color thread at the hems of the sleeves and tunic you could take those out later and hem them by hand. It's not something you need to do right away, but that would improve the look, too.
