The only thing I would work on is the several rows of stitching around the collar trim. I agree... without the multiple threads on the collar, its less obvious its a gi. It sold it right away to me. I don't do martial arts (yet).
If he could remove those or somehow hide it, I guess it would be very nice.
Without the gi-aspect of it, the costume is impressive.
This said, the fact some people where in with a lesser costume shouldn't imply that new members should bend the newly instated rule... I mean, you don't have to be here to have a jedi costume. If you want to be here, you decided you can have a good ennough costume to participate in the assembly, you should bend to the assembly's rules and regulations.
Just like TanzanLinnear who is working his gi into a good ennough costume.
I think its the job of the counsil to enforce those rules. I mean, all other costuming association do enforce their rules and gain in membership every years. If the staff makes high standard, people will enjoy comparing their high standardized costumes with others of the same quality and every is going to be happy.
If, however, the staff let anything in, people will go with the "anything goes" and we'll end up bathrobe-jedi association.
Hey... I'm still working on a "presentable ennough" costume for my submission to the assembly. I believe you have high ennough standard for me to take time before applying... There is no hurry in costuming..?
