These are my only tats:  The dragon represents the more volatile side of my personality (something I am overcoming bit-by-bit). The Kanji script has been translated for me by a friend who told me it literally translates into "Jade" and "Pieces". He then explained that there is a old Chinese proverb that says, "Rather to be broken pieces of jade, than intact piece of clay." The meaning behind this has to do with honour. Jade is precious and clay is worthless, so as a man (or woman), it is better to die with your honour intact than to live the life of a person who is honourless.
