Yeah...little eight-legged kittens without visible ears and several pairs of eyes...*shudders*
I'm not technically afraid of spiders. I see what place they have in the world; eating smaller insects and controlling the rodent population and such. The only spiders I really fear are the deadly ones; ditto with snakes. Garter snakes, boas, king snakes, etc, I'm okay with. But a rattler? No, way. I can't even see one of those guys stuffed and behind glass without shaking like a leaf and slowly backing away. I mean, I've had nightmares of being surrounded by the things. A couple days ago I nwas walking and I found a disembodied skin of one. I just stood there for a few minutes before I got up the courage to go around.
As far as the spiders go, I actually like daddy longlegs. They can't hurt me and they eat insects I don't like. They're almost...cute? Tarantulas aren't too bad as long as I'm not touching one.
Aside from poisonous snakes and spiders, there's not much I fear. I fear needles a little bit, but as long as I think of something pleasant and relax, I don't feel a thing. I'm not afraid of injury, the unknown, or even death. About the only thing I fear in the injury department is something happening to my hearing. I could stand it if all my other senses left, but not my hearing. Music is one of the best things in my life.
One more thing; I fear amusement rides that go both backwards AND upside down at the same time, but I rode one anyway; the Sky Screamer. I was okay with it as long as I didn't watch when I went upside down.
