I wish I had home-schooled my oldest, at least until high school. As it was, he learned nothing from elementary or middle school, and everything from reading about the subjects he was interested in. My middle child loves going to school, and my youngest has adhd, so I'm not sure I would have been able to teach him properly, as I know myself and I know I would have been too free with him. I'm not a very structured person.
I am currently employed as a CNA working as an SLA at BLHS which is a care facility for the mentally challenged. And no I'm not saying that your youngest should be here
I do however work with a few people who have adhd as well and the most important thing I've found with them is to have endless patience and to keep them active at things they like and to routinely try to shift their interest to other things. Maybe you can work with your youngest outside of school?... GL! MTFBWY!
