Yea, my dad was struggling to keep up on some of my classes as well. (which to me indicated that I was doing well) I enjoyed being homeschooled alot. It gave me a chance to get to know my parents at an entirely new level and it is for that reason that I hold them at the top of my list and is why I consult them about different problems. While I would not call them 'Jedi' I would call them my mentors about the real world. The thing I liked best about homeschooling was able to take the classes at my own pace so I was able to learn everything at my pace and not the pace of a class. I also enjoyed that I was able to choose some of my subjects that I was interested in. My Dad was the one who got me started into computers. Starting with how to find my way around different operating systems then to basic programming such as HTML. And finally I got into troubleshoot and repairing computers. This I continue to do even out of school at a local recreational center for youth I manage the network of computers that I built. I'm sure that your padawans will thank you later for homeschooling them (you might have to watch closely though, sometimes we show gratitude just by putting what you taught us into our everyday lives!)
