Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who claim to be Christians, but aren't. They're doing what I call 'playing church'; they're all fine and dandy inside the building or on Sunday, but once they're back to life, they're up to the same things all over again and sometimes act even grumpier than everyone else. So then the other people say: 'THAT's a Christian? Huh! I don't want to be like that!' and that's where you get all these media people putting ALL Christians or even people who got to church down. What??? now that's a weird church. Actually, 'weird' would be generous. That's rude and demanding and putting everyone into a mold. Most churches I've been to do ask people to give, but politely and they don't push you into it. I thought the main point of taking offering (besides paying bills and stuff...yes, the church can be messed up) was giving because you WANT to...not because you think you HAVE to. No one should be shoved into it. I'm ranting; sorry. I really don't want to make anyone mad. Not mad.. its what we all see in our views. I know for a fact that when my grandfather was dying a few years ago the current church we were going to said "We'll be praying for you.." And that was it. No other comfert, nadda. Wheras we learned that with the Wittnesses (and Im sure other groups) said they would have made housecalls, taken the kids for a couple hours to movies or the park , make meals.. Something to help ease everything. To me that's christian love.. when one goes beyond just praying..
