You are so right, Jenny. I had once gone to this star wars exhibit in San Francisco when I was 14. They had a lot of things on display, I think it was the stuff that got sent to the Smithonium in Washington. But my first real convention was in 1999 before Episode 1 came out, it was Celebration 1 in Denver, Cololrado. I had a blast! I didn't have a costume at that time, but it was so cool to be around so many people that I didn't know but who loved star wars just as much as I did. I didn't get a chance to see too many actors at that event, but I did get to meet Anthony Daniels, Ray Park and Rick McCallum. I still have a pic of me and him. I had so much fun.
I missed Celebration 2 due to financial problems, so I was really bummed about that. Celebration 3 was just incredible. The whole experience I probably won't be able to put in words. Nowadays, I try to make it to smaller events here locally when I can. I want to try and go to DragonCon this year, but will have to see what my monetary situation looks like.
But going back to what Jenny was saying, once I am at a convention, either small or large, in costume or not, I never want to leave, you know. It's like going to that galaxy far far away, and not wanting to come back home. I am totally hooked to conventions and will never want to stop going to them.
