Ah, ya gotta go to the Livejournal group, hp_costuming. Lots of detailed info and sources.
While I don't do student costumes, I've read what others have found out. In Ep 1, the student robes were lined in black. In the rest of the movies they are lined in color, which has changed. Gryffindor is currently lined in an almost maroon red.
