Well, there's the comparatively small state con and then there's Dragon*Con. Two very different approaches.
Norwescon is quite laid back and boring compared to D*C. I run a couple fan tables with local members, attend a few panels, present panel(s), hang with friends. Dealer's room is usually the same people every year so it takes 20 minutes. I always attend the Sat costume contest.
Last year was my first year at D*C. I got overwhelmed with the programming and tried to attend a lot. This year I probably won't try to do that as much but spend more time at MOTF Star Wars tarck. I hope to see more people I know from costume groups. I spent, and will spend, most of my time with TJA.
