I usually recon the palce, note where interesting things are, then go back.
Dealer's room: This usally depends on the eailer recon if I want anything.
Workshops: I'm always looking for ways to improve my craft and take advantage of the sewing and prop workshops.
Sometimes DragonCon will have a workshop about a fictional culture like Pern, or martial arts stunt fighting etc, I attend those too.
