Agreed... our thoughts and prayers are with you, Master Mon-Jas. Hope the unemployment won't last long! Me? I was an art major -- drawing and painting -- back when the original Star Wars was released. (I liked making all sorts of costumes back then for various dorm events, socials, etc. -- usually something "assembled" from items from the thrift store and fabric store.) Then I decided "I can't earn a living being an artist", so I switched to Interior Design, which is my degree. I hated it. Not the decorating part, but the selling part, which is more of what working in that field really entailed. It didn't fit my temperament. So after I married I quit and went to work with my husband for several years in a family business where I learned bookkeeping. That's what I do now -- for a Christian non-profit organization -- and I have worked here for 14 years. It's a small office, the people are really great, and I've discovered I'm more "task-oriented" so it suits my temperament better. (And I'm a bit "tightly wound" and "perfectionist" as you have probably observed from some of my posts so that fits with doing accounting.) I still like to paint -- watercolors, mainly landscapes -- and do creative stuff such as the faux finishes and costuming.
