So sorry about the lost kitty, Whinter! 
I've lost a lot of pets in the past, and the latest one was almost too much to bear. It's been almost four months since I saw my 'baby', Annie, loaded onto that dreadful Animal Control truck and I still cry for her. I do feel ready for another pet, but can't get one yet because of the financial circumstances. 
The cats running around the apartment complex give me my 'fur fix' for now.
In the meantime I have the happy task of deciding what pet to get. I've got my heart set on a Beagle; small enough so it won't knock you (or your one and a half year old nephew) down, but big enough that you don't have to worry about stepping on the poor thing.
That's cool you can link with your cats, Solinbeb. I nevr knew one could do that! I need to try that if I ever get a cat again...
