I took this at COSI this past weekend. Thought I'd post it on the boards for all to see When I get around to sewing my costume in the next week or two, I hope to make my sash similiar to this one.

I think there's a clearer shot in DAG, I'll look & see what I see & tell you what I think then.

That looks similar to how my Japanese style obi wraps.

I just noticed in that picture.....it looks like Mace Windu's tabbards have a seam in them.....very interesting. I suppose that makes sure the hand down straight on the bottom.

Yes, the tabbards have a cross-wise seam. It was seen by some of the attendees at FIDM who got a tour....that same seam is on other Jedi costumes.

The sash/obi simply has the wrinkles sewn inito it, Anakin and Obi Was and done similarly but not as pronouced.

And I can see, also, that his sash is cut on the bias.

I don't think I need to sew any wrinkles into my obi; they come all on their own just fine. The seam in the tabbards is....interesting. The one advantage to it is that you could make your tabbards out of smaller pieces of fabric. With the multi-piece tabards, the shoulders can be angled to fit better, but it would be a little more sewing to make them.

from what I can tell the seam in the tabards are on them all, even Qui-Gon has it.
The Obi indeeds wrinkles itself, but I think they wanted continuity from scene to scene, and thus they are sewn in.

Are there any pictures that shows the seams on Qui-Gon's tabards? That would really confirm it, since he's an Ep I costume.
How annoying if that's the case; another seam to sew, but that would be handy to make the tabards from shorter pieces of fabric.

Whoa!!!
That detail is most impressive. Almost as good as being there; even better considering my eyesight. That's definitely a seam.
But do you have a picture of the same thing that shows more of the whole costume? The seam only goes part way, and it's not clear where the tabards are and where the tunic is. I know, I'm so demanding. Pretty please?
