Our sympathy in this time of sadness is with you, I know you have heard from several of us on different forums.

Sorry to read about your mom so late. I was busy studying for my Med-Surg 1 final, which I did pass. My life has revolved around nursing school, which I got accepted to in April 2014. So far, I'm doing well (in nursing school terminology), which is I'm passing my nursing classes, skills lab, and clinical experience. I'll be returning to nursing school for my second year and am on track to graduate in May 2016. The second Thursday of May is the Pinning Ceremony, and the third Thursday is Commencement. I was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society for my academic excellence, and hope to keep the GPA required to graduate with both PTK and President's Honors. I also was the recipient of a nursing scholarship for continuing education students. My lame duck condo unit finally sold on March 12th after being on the market for almost two years. I purchased it for $130,000 and it sold for the fair market value of $55,000. The property was sold as a Short Sale, with the mortgage company forgiving the remaining portion of my mortgage debit. I hope you all understand why I will NEVER buy another home, but will always rent for the same amount of money that I was paying for mortgage + escrow, common charges, and utilities. The biggest hold-up was the ineffectual management company and BOHA which took seven years to replace my leaky like a sieve roof so that I could place my unit on the market. This past January my sister served her lazy-leechy husband with divorce papers. So far she is "winning". He has to be out by the end of the month, or all his possessions will be legally thrown out into the street with his person and my oldest nephew who chose to live with his father because he's over 12 YO. My sister got the mortgage to the house refinanced into her name alone, and she's the legal sole owner of the house. The divorce is to be finalized around September. On June 12th my cousin Richard became one with the Force after battling Lou Gehrig's Disease/ALS for the past few years. He was in the Navy and was a Gulf War veteran. According to the VA and CDC he most likely developed ALS from serving in the war zone of the Gulf with the chemical stew that was made with all the junk that was thrown into the air. He had ALS for a year before it was detected by a neurologist. In our time of sadness, we were fortunate to have him for an extra six months. He was sick enough to be hospitalized, but was able to be discharged and was able to spend his last Christmas with his family. This past June he was admitted to the local hospital with a failing diaphragm from the ALS affecting this last portion of the motor center in his brain. At my cousin's request not to be a "vegetable" on a ventilator my uncle and aunt allowed to have "the plug pulled" and Richard peacefully became one with the Force. He was a HUGE Star Wars fan and would've been at home here in TJA and you would've met him at a SWC or D*C. He'll be watching EP VII as a Force Spirit this December 18th. Word has reached me that I made the right decision to leave my employer of seventeen years to return to college full-time to finally earn my AAS RN degree. Two months after I resigned my position, a buy-out was made which many people were waiting for. Now, the company is up for sale and a lay-off of up to ten years service time was announced. I also heard that the company has become very strict with it's vacation policies and several months ago people had to do forced permanent transfers because base locations were closed. My former employer has become a dead-end job with no potential for advancement as I has foreseen in 2010.

Doing better....Still trying to get over most of my costumes were stolen out of my storage unit. My sewing machine was still there so I can at least remake them.... Otherwise, still trying to get moved back to S.C. I missed this place, so glad to be home. ....

As requested in the very first post... Current status: Winding down for the evening, after a "girls day out" with my younger sister.

It’s a week out from Christmas, 2017. TLJ made last week nuts. So I’m also chilling (figuratively, because we have a furnace), in front of a lit but Undecorated tree. Kids are in bed. Might grab a scotch.

The last Jedi certainly made my week, I saw it twice, the 2nd time with The Force Awakens as a double feature on Thursday. Monday I got to go to a Press screening, that was awesome! We watched Rogue One between shows at work on Saturday & Sunday. HAPPY LIFE DAY!

Thinking of doing a Star Wars marathon on Chrismas Eve and Christmas Day, 1-3, Rogue One, 4-6 and 7, then maybe go to The Last Jedi at IMAX after, well maybe. I'm planning a trip to The Darkside bar in early January, I will of course wear a Jedi!

Well, back online, my laptop died at the 2nd of January, Happy New Year! I have a semi-new laptop thanks to a friend. I just got the laptop factory reset and back up as mine on Monday. It's been an adventure. Much slower than my dead one, and much smaller hard drive, but it is a temporary one, until I can afford a new one. Whatever I have, some cough is just wearing me out, antibiotics, steroids and otc not really stopping it. I should just get stock in Ricola. It is better than it was, it started on Thanksgiving weekend, still coughing. My theatre is dark until April 3rd, so time I have, no $$$, oh well. Plans for the week, hope to go see The Commuter w/Liam Neeson and maybe TLJ one more time. I have filed my Federal and State taxes, the refund should come at a good time for paying bills. YAY! I'd rather use it for something fun, but not likely this year, but should keep me solvent.

Anyone heard anything about our members in Florida... specifically Ani-Chay Pinn, who lives in one of the areas that took a direct hit. She told me she wasn't evacuating but moving to higher ground.

My current status is... trying to not go stir crazy during this time of self-quarantining. I'm still laying down the groundwork for my costume & saber hilt. I'll have to start with getting my sewing machine cleaned off & serviced. I'm still hoping to get back into sewing asap (not rush through it).
