Saber switch tosses, spinning during dueling and breaking timing With the recent insurgence of saberplay, I just thought I would elaborate on my views on certain topics that have been brought up to give you all some more insight on my style of saber combat, and how the techniques are tangible to real martial arts. For example: *Switch tosses can be used in a duel. *Spins have their places in duels, too. *How these break an opponent's timing, and how that is translated from sport martial arts. All these techniques (and MUCH more) will be taught in detail on mine and Novastar's Saber Combat DVD, which will be released sometime in 2011. Enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFWrSASiN6o

Nice to see some additions here. In terms of saber combat I like to remind people that lightsaber combat should be used for theatrical entertainment(spins and such are used for timing) if one wants to study correct swordsmanship such as Kendo, Fencing or Iai-Do and Kenjitsu please consult a licensed Dojo or creditied teaching facility.
It's awesome to spin the saber around and have some fun with it but again folks enjoy it for what it is.

In terms of stage combat, find a system that works well, looks realistic, and most importantly is SAFE.

Yes. Biggest thing I have to do whe I get asked to help ona production or film etc is getting the actors or stunt men to get on the same speeds for whats half, step, fast etc. One may think half is slow so you have folks going at different speeds. Its getting them on the same page that is the hardest step so if I say half speed, its the same on both ends
