Ah, the old Supply and Demand trick! Lol! Whew! Yeah, that is a bit pricey....
I don't know; I've always been more a fan of the Obi-Wan Kenobi in clone trooper armor from the micro-episodes, with his cloak in full flow behind him but tucked into the armor at the same time. I've never been any good at posting attachments to these messages, but I hope everyone knows what I'm going on about...It was white and black clone trooper armor over his brown Jedi cloak, in full bloom, and it just looked totally bad-@#$%, seriously! You know how everyone always thinks of Mace Windu as the baddest Jedi? Well, this look on Obi-Wan made me rethink that. He looked like he could not only survive Order 66, but take down the Empire by himself, it was so awesome....
I'm like you when it comes to armor and costimes; if I can find it already made and assembled, I'm going to go for it, if possible. The problem is that the people who make these things know that there's a demand for it from people like us, so they mark it up to some astronomically ridiculous level. I'm not saying it's not worth $500, but, hoo boy! If you could do it yourself (and I don't what your level of skill with plastic and fiberglass is), I'd seriously consider it....
...may the Force be with you in your serach for clone trooper armor...and good luck!

Where I have worked with a LOT of plastic.....I have never "created it"....lol...
trim it, glue it, paint it, fit it... but never formed it... that is certainly an art ...

All the finished generals in the photos look great, almost enough to tempt me, but, little time, no room, and no place for another set of tools, at least not right now.

I followed the build and there was a lot of time and effort put into it. There isn't anything The Clone Wars specific being made right now in mass quantities. And stormtrooper kits take time, money and effort to finish on top of the initial cash outlay. So for those that are not able or unwilling to finish armor there is real value in it. Not to mention that it is incredibly accurate. Responding only.... hmmmm.... how many months later? LOL But I have a good reason now. Agree with Tony (and many others) on this... I had the opportunity earlier this month to get a raw cast of the Anakin shoulders and clamshells/bells fron this same vendor and the one Ky-Wan used. The vendor sent me a project sheet with detailed list of stuff to have/buy and very detailed instructions. It's a LOT of work, so not only did he have a lot of labor in the original, he had a lot of labor in the ones he finished for folks who ordered them finished rather than raw. [Gracious, he did a LOT of work just on those instructions!!] My armor is due to be delivered Monday, and I'm as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve.

I know that the current rules state that the armor must be made out of plastic, or fiberglass, but I'm making mine out of layers of Foamies with Plasti-dip. THe plastidip gives it alot of substance, not to mention it's darn comfortable. It's easy within the budget as well. I do other costuming and Foamies and Plastidip has always worked for me

Schph, Plastic is easy to form. Just set your oven on the LOWEST setting. Once the plastic is softer and moldable, just shape it however you want. It will be hot, but with several layers of fabric between the plastic and any skin it isn't a problem. I've used it more times than I can count for SCA combat armor. Aya - I think you have to activate the account yourself. You should have received an email with instructions when you first registered on the site. If your costume has been approved, there is a thread here in the Introduce Yourself area for us to verify and switch your status to a full Jedi. But I believe the account must be activated by you apfoister.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Assknow&action=display&thread=5522
