I'm going to DragonCon... and am assembling a uniform to submit, and want to be accepted. I already have these boots, would they work? [Unfortunately I am not smart enough to get the picture on here... The heel is 4 inches.....] I can't seem to find info on heel height. Thanks! Siuan

Jedi boots typically have a very low (less than 1 inch) to no heel. There aren't any examples of Jedi in the movies or cartoons with heels any higher than that.
There are some pictures of Jedi on the Padawan's Guide page and some of them show their boots:

Hi Siuan. Vetrean "Con Rat" of 19 years here. :-) COmfy footware is a MUST.
There isn't a "Rule" at to how high or low boot heels are. it depends on the wearer's personal prefreances. The Pictorial dictionary only shows a few Jedi, since there are 10,000 of them, variety is the spice of life. If your 4 inchers are what you have, you like 'em, by all means wear them.
If this is your first year at Dragon Con, you'll be standing and walking around a lot. If the boots don't have them already, put in some gelled inserts/insoles, and arch supports. If this isn't your first DragonCOn or convention in general, 'you know the drill' on comfy footware..

This gets me thinking...... is there a maximum heel height for Jedi? I can't think of a single case in the movies where anyone has high heels. The look of high heeled boots is very different from flat heels. For example: cowboy boots might be the right height and color, but because of the heel and pointed toe they would never look right for Jed boots for an Old Republic costume to me.

Ahhh, everyone has very good answers, and even better questions about footwear! I have to admit I know better than to wear heels just because I like how they look, rather than how they feel --- esp'lly after 10 hours in them!!! Trathor talked me into a closer hotel than what I was thinking at first for DragonCon (my first!!!! I'm a newbie!) so maybe I'll be changing more often due to the closeness. I know there are other girls who are addicted to shoes/boots like me out there!! heee heeee heeeeee!!!!!! Thanks everybody.

A Jedi in high heels would be like a cat on stilts, not to practical. An inch, or maybe two would be as high as would be right, just imagine running, doing martial arts and sword/sabre fighting in high heels, it's not really a very Jedi image. As for all day at a con, iyee! OUCH! There are all kinds of boots that work on Jedi costumes, look thru the members picture gallery, there is quite a range.

Mainly if you are dying to wear heels, get a wide based heel. Make sure you've arch supports inside that fit properly, and the heel is a rubber block heel. You want the foot to be cusioned in there and room for natural sweeling. It helps to have a natrual body to the boot, like Leather. A synthetic will make your leg sweat, it doesn't have the right sorta' 'give'.
My 3 inchers have a leather body, the non-slip soles rock. Excellent fitting arch supports..ooohhh boy, a must. :-)

The only Jedi that I can think of with a heeled boot is Aayla Secura, but she's not on spikey heels, they are wide.

I go for as little heel as possible. Jedi is a 'walking around' costume for me, so comfort is important. My feet are allergic to pain.
